Note:

Inspired by aspects of Middle Eastern culture, Echoes Across the Sand travels from the ancient to the modern, exploring the stark differences and hidden similarities between the old and the new. The first movement, “Horns of the Past,” recalls a time of vast armies plagued by hard-fought wars. It features horn calls and the uneasiness of conflict. The second movement, “Sea of Change,” aims to lull the listener into a floating tranquility, while secretly drifting further and further away from the tangible, before a wave of reality crashes down. Full of energy, the final movement, “City Bustle,” depicts the busyness and hasty attitudes common in the contemporary world, where snap decisions are often made without realizing their full impact. Has this modern culture truly travelled so far from its ancient roots?
